Italian comfort food in the middle of the deep south? That’s amore, y’all!

While there are options in Savannah for more upscale, or some would say “more authentic” Northern Italian type of cuisine, this is the good, old-fashioned Americanized version with classic dishes like lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, ziti, penne ala vodka, chicken parm, and the like.  The only thing missing are the red and white checked tableclothes and the chianti bottles turned into candleholders.

The menu is wide, with Italian flair salads, sandwiches, pasta, flatbreads, and even burgers and Mediterranean kabobs, but you really can’t go wrong sticking with the comfort food.  Their mozzarella garlic bread appetizer is addictive and their lasanga is as close to perfect as you’re going to get.

Prices are very reasonsable for a Historic District restaurant.  You’ll pay well under $20 for most items and only the bigger entree dishes go above that.
