Savannah Tours & Classes

American Prohibition Museum Cocktail Classes

website
Where else would you learn the basics on how to make a craft cocktail then at the American Prohibition Museum? This fun, hands-on two hour class gives you an overview on the tools of the trade (it’s called a Hawthorne Strainer) with some fun history (it wasn’t invented by a guy named Hawthorne) plus how to measure, pour, stir, shake, and drink! Yes, you get to imbibe what they pour and what you make. The teachers are genial sorts and like all good bartenders are there to make sure you have a good time.

Blue Orb Tours

website
This small company only does ghost tours so you can expect them to be in-depth and a lot of fun. They run at night for maximum spookiness and they are walking tours so makes sure to wear comfy shoes (in case you need to run from ghosts, of course).

Chef Darin’s Kitchen Table

2514 Abercorn St., Suite 140-150
912-662-6882
website
Chef Darin Sehnert got his “chops” (see what I did there?) working as a culinary training instructor and restaurant manager for Disney and then came to Savannah to launch the cooking school at 700 Drayton. Now, with his own state of the art culinary school and kitchen supply store, Chef Darin hosts regular, hands-on cooking classes in everything from fried chicken to Thai to Mediterranean to brunch and beyond. It’s a low-pressure, fun, educational, and tasty way to spend a few hours. Afterwards spend some time in the gourmet-worthy store to stock up on your kitchen essentials.

Old Savannah Tours

912-234-8128
website
One of the longest running tour operators in Savannah, they are best known for the “characters” you meet along the way, which may include everyone from the founder of Savannah James Olgethorope to Forrest Gump. They do history and sightseeing tours, an on-off tour that lets you get off the trolley and explore on your own, haunted tours, ghost tours, and much more.

Old Town Tours

855-245-8992
website
With their very popular on-off tour and their even more popular Ghosts & Gravestones nighttime experience, this company is a go-to provider for a lot of Savannah visitors. They may not have the variety of tours like some other companies but they score very highly in guest satisfaction and reviews, which counts for a lot when customer service is as important as it is with a sightseeing tour.
