Review

Taking classic southern food and putting modern spins on it is nothing new here in Savannah, but the execution at this cute bistro is what makes it noteworthy.

Check out the fried green tomatoes dressed up with ham and pimento cheese (now that’s southern!) or the deviled eggs, also with ham and pickled veggies.  The shrimp and grits entree adds bacon, peppers, and onions to kick it up a few notches and the meatloaf is done with ground filet mignon and foie gras, giving it a decidedly upscale flavor.

Other options include seafood, steaks, and a burger plus a full on low-country shrimp boil with crab cakes and smoked sausage.  They take their regional cuisine seriously here!

Everything is well done and the presentation and service are phenomenal.  The room is a little too “lively” (read: loud) for my tastes when it’s busy but not enough to make the food any less appealing.

Prices are on the high side but not outrageously so.  Most entrees come with sides and they range from the about $20-$40 before tax and tip.
