Clary’s
Savannah Restaurants > Clary’s
Review
A Savannah institution since the 1930s, Clary’s is one of those no-frills diners that you find in just about any town complete with a lunch counter and waitresses that have probably worked there forever. It is enormously popular although the reasons why (beyond it’s hearty, but not exceptional, breakfasts) remain a bit of a mystery. Still, you need to be prepared for a long wait to get a table, especally on the weekends.
If you’ve ever been to a greasy spoon diner, the menu will not surprise you. Breakfast includes eggs in all formats including omelettes, pancakes, waffles, hashes, and the like. Lunch is sandwiches, burgers, salads, and the other usuals. It’s all good and hearty, but there are a lot of other better restaurants in this town.
Prices are a bonus – you can get some cheap eats – so if you’re on a budget, this is is a good option.
