Double Wide Diner
Savannah Restaurants > Double Wide Diner
Review
A sister to the wildly popular Treylor Park and Hitch restaurants, this fun and funky space takes everything those restaurants are good at (high calorie comfort food) and gives a breakfast diner twist.
Done as a diner theme with whimisical touches like TVs in picture frames, junction boxes that look like robots, and video game tables, the space is small but if you’re feeling claustrophobic, they do have an outdoor dining patio (first come, first served).
You can get a basic breakfast with eggs and pancakes or build your own stacks or omelets, but why not go for twisted up options like the Sloppy Joe Skillet with fried banana peppers, American cheese, and scrambled eggs or the Chupacabra, which is basically a big breakfast burrito served fried, chimichanga style. The Fried Chicken Biscuit will make you want to write letters home to your mama to tell her she was doing it wrong and the Pigs ‘n Biscuit Blanket (sausages wrapped in biscuits with honey butter, blueberry compote, and mustard) are revelatory.
Or say to heck with breakfast and go for the Double Wide Dog, a foot long topped with chili on one half and sloppy joe meat on the other. They also have a few salads and sandwiches, plus some Treylor Park favorites like the patty melt, the pot pie, fried bologna.
Prices are reasonsable, service is friendly, and the food is exceptional so why aren’t you there yet?
Note, there can be waits for a table a peak times.
