Savannah continues to evolve into a foodie destination, and restaurants like Fleeting are helping to speed that transition.

It’s located at the Thompson Hotel in the Eastern Wharf development just east of the Historic District. It’s a lovely room with glossy industrial touches that feel warm and comfortable.

The menu is inspired by local farmer’s markets and the proximity of Savannah to the water, with a focused menu of dishes that use the freshest of ingredients and an upscale presentation. The offerings change often, but you can safely presume something fantastic will be waiting for you.

Consider a starter like the pork belly with green tomato, coconut, and cilantro or the country captain spring rolls with chicken, pork, and roasted rice.

The farm-to-table concept is evident with an entire section of the menu devoted to veggies and grains like golden beets with citrus and lemon and red corn grits with preserved corn.

Mains include options like spiced duck breast, or a porcini crusted strip steak done with black garlic.

Everything is meticulously prepared, and the service is top notch. Prices are on the high side – expect at least $75 per person once you’re all done – but you’ll leave feeling like you spent your money well.
