Review

One of the finest of the fine restaurants in Savannah, this classic low country dining experience is served up in a grand old mansion dating back to 1771. If you get the chance, be sure to explore a little – each room is more stunning than the other and the restoration work they have done is incredible.

The food is just as luxe as the surroundings, with everything from steaks to seafood to fried green tomatoes and a pork tenderloin you’ll want to write home about.  If you can only have one dish, consider the fried chicken, which is a Southern specialty here.

The service is impeccable – attentive without being intrusive.

Prices are high but not as high as you might expect for a place this nice.  Make reservations well in advance as they book up fast.

Worth noting, the Planters Tavern in the basement is a first-come, first-served experience that serves the same menu.
