Often overlooked in the crush of foodie restaurants in Savannah, this terrific English pub features a hearty menu of both across-the-pond and domestic pub favorites that may very well put it on your repeat visit list.
There’s a gorgeous dining room with several seating areas that can provide you with any mood, from boisterous to intimate, plus a rooftop patio for al fresco enjoyment.
Start with the sausage rolls done in a puff pastry with house made English mustard or the onion rings dipped in a two-tone beer batter. Other options include southern flavors like fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, and pimento cheese croqueettes. They also have an absolutely fantastic mac and cheese that you can dress up with jalapenos and bacon.
Soups and salads, sandwiches, burgers, and pot pies take up the bulk of the menu at lunch but check out their Best of Britain section for dinner where you can get fish & chips, bangers & mash, and more. Sadly they removed their meatloaf, which was probably the best in town, but there is plenty of other stuff to satisfy.
Prices are moderate, with only the things like steaks, chops, and seafood at dinner breaking the $20 barrier.
