Review

Collins Quarter used to do a sublte fusion of Australian flavors into their southern cooking, but these days the down under influence is harder to see.  Does that make it any less of a desirable place to eat?  Absolutely not.  Everything they serve here is fresh and bursting with flavor, making every meal feel like a sunny, spring day.

Brunch features well-prepared but fairly traditional eggs Benedict or biscuits and gravy, but for the more adventurous eater consider the Moroccan, Israeli, and, yes, British inspired dishes like Bubble and Squeak.  If you don’t know what that is, look it up.  You’ll also find some salads, sandwiches, and burgers, many of which come with a fried egg because a) it’s brunch and b) apparently that’s a thing in Australia.

Dinner ups the ante with steak, Asian influenced short rib, seafood, chicken, and more.  It’s all good, but a little less interesting.  If you can only make it here for one meal, choose brunch, however be prepared for a wait for a table, especially on busy weekends.  They don’t take reservations.

Note there is a second location at Forsyth Park in the “Fort” where they have regular jazz music and other events on the weekend.  It’s open Mon-Thu 7:30am-4pm, Fri 9am-3pm, and Sat-Sun 9am-4pm.
